The Trinity UCC Kujichagulia Ministry presents an HIV/AIDS Sensitivity Awareness
Worship Service: Extending a Hand of Compassion on Sunday July 24,
2005 at 2:30 pm. Special guests include: Anthony Hollins, Praise Dancer; Trinity
Arts Players; Bryan Johnson & Imani Ya Watume; Word by Rev Michael Sykes; reception
following the service.
The service will be held in the Sanctuary of Trinity United Church of Christ,

On Wednesday, July 13, 2005 Thousand Waves Martial Arts & Self-Defense Center will
host Susan Thistlethwaite on Violence against Women: the Impact of Direct Action;
reception 7pm, program 7:30-9pm. The Reverend Susan Brooks Thistlethwaite, Ph.D. is
President of Chicago Theological Seminary. She’ll present a talk entitled If Rapists
are the Shock Troops, Batterers are the Army of Occupation: What Women's Experience
of Violence has Taught us about Non-violent Direct Action in Making Peace.
This event is part of a free public lecture series, Facing Conflict/Making Peace:
